ART of RECOVERY Microgrant

The City of Santa Monica’s Art of Recovery (AoR) Microgrant program offers up to $5,000 for creative projects that activate public spaces and build community through the arts. Priority will be given to first-time applicants and projects that engage Santa Monica residents and enliven public space. 

The AoR Microgrant Program accepts applications on a rolling basis and conducts quarterly reviews until available funds are fully expended*. To be considered for funding, applications must be submitted by the following dates: 

  • May 1, 2026* 
  • Aug 1, 2026 
  • Nov 1, 2026

Community Memory Lab Artist residency

ART of RECOVERY Microgrant

The World as Memory  is a one-day exhibition considering memory not as a fixed record of the past, but as an active and evolving process through which we construct our understanding of the world. 


Call for Artists: All Los Angeles County artists are invited to submit works that examine how personal recollections intersect with collective histories, memory, migration, landscape and cultural identity. 

Mediums: Photography, Painting, Drawing, Video, Sculpture, New Media and Mixed Media.

Community Memory Lab Artist residency

The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture (Arts and Culture) invites Los Angeles County-based artists to apply for an artist residency with the LA County Cultural Climate Commons: Community Memory Lab & Living Archive, a collaboration between Arts and Culture, LA County Library / LA County Library Foundation, the Altadena Library District / Altadena Library Foundation, and Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) / Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA).
