Our Artists and Creatives Grants provide financial support - generally up to $2,500 - to independent creatives (including collectives and collaborators) making or presenting creative work relating to or encouraging community engagement. We are committed to helping projects that depart from the routine and present new, distinct and imaginative possibilities. Our fall grants are open to artists living or working in California.

The City of Santa Monica’s Art of Recovery (AoR) Microgrant program offers up to $5,000 for creative projects that activate public spaces and build community through the arts. Priority will be given to first-time applicants and projects that engage Santa Monica residents and enliven public space.
The AoR Microgrant Program accepts applications on a rolling basis and conducts quarterly reviews until available funds are fully expended*. To be considered for funding, applications must be submitted by the following dates:

The LACE Lightning Fund is an annual grant for artists and artist-driven organizations, projects, and publications.
This year, LACE will award 10 artist project grants in the amount of $6,000.
LACE is also accepting applicants for the Jacki Apple Fund, supporting one LA-based mid- or advanced-career artist with a $10,000 grant for work resulting in performance, media, exhibition, and/or publication within one year of the award.
We are open to innovation, experimentation, and risk-taking in the field and are supportive of diverse approaches to visual art making.
