Opportunities to Submit Your Work & Apply for Grants

Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) invites artists to propose three images for a temporary public art installation at our main facility. Through this call for art we aim to offer a simple submission process for incisive, surprising, and unique imagery that will enliven the East Avenue neighborhood. Of particular interest are projects that connect visitors to the location, community and/or history of the neighborhood, challenge visitors and passersby, and address important social and political issues. RoCo welcomes visual artists of all genres. RoCo also invites visual artists to collaborate with literary artists as we have previously shown in this location.

The 2027 Creative Capital Open Call seeks proposals from individual artists in all 50 states for new artistic works in the Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Film, and Literature.

The Creative Capital Award provides unrestricted project grants of up to $50,000 to individual artists to create new work. The new State of the Art Prize provides unrestricted artist grants of $10,000.

The application portal opens on Monday, March 2, 2026. The deadline for submission is Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 3PM ET.

The Torrance Art Museum is now accepting applications for NOMAD, a three-day pop-up exhibition on August 7–9, 2026. NOMAD is a community-focused event where Southern California artists showcase recent work, connect with peers, and engage a wider audience. The exhibition highlights the region’s diverse 2D and sculptural talent and emphasizes creative exchange, collaboration, and relationship-building. This year, NOMAD will take place at Del Amo Crossing (21535 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503), an open-plan concrete-floor space in the heart of the South Bay. Over 150 artists are expected to participate. The event will also feature TRYST, an international art fair spotlighting alternative galleries and artist-run initiatives.
