What Is This Art Asking of You? Workshop

What Is This Art Asking of You? Workshop

What Is This Art Asking of You? Workshop

Saturday, September 12

11:00am - 12:30pm

See where the art takes you in this 90-minute interactive workshop that invites participants to experience the Between Darkness and Dawn exhibit as a series of invitations rather than objects to decode.

Workshop leaders will provide creative prompts, materials and guidance as participants respond through writing, drawing, movement, or quiet observation.

By the end of the session, you’ll have experienced the exhibition not as a collection of objects , but as a sequence of conversation - between artists and viewer, artwork and imagination, strangers and friends.  You’ll almost certainly leave looking at art differently than when you arrived.

This event is free and open to the public.

Between Darkness and Dawn Closing Reception

Between Darkness and Dawn Closing Reception

Saturday, September 26

4:00 - 6:00pm

Meet the artists, view their work & celebrate the closing of Between Darkness and Dawn, an exhibition of Los Angeles Art Association Westside Artists Critique Group.

The works in this exhibition reflect themes of suffering as, over time, it transforms into resilience, joy, and transformation, offering viewers an emotional and visual journey that moves from turmoil toward light.

The relevance at this moment of upheaval in our external and internal spheres, given war, climate crisis, immigration repression, and the intensification of worldwide fascism, is clear. The work attmepts to both acknowledge the suffering while also express the longing for transcendence.

This event is free and open to the public.
