It’s almost here!

Laboratory for the Future will share the work done over the last two years by research-based artist Debra Scacco while Artist-in-Residence at the City of Santa Monica Public Works Department (Water and Resource Recovery & Recycling Divisions). Included in the exhibition will be maps of water systems in Santa Monica, rubbings of infrastructural sites, a collaboration with the City of Santa Monica GIS mapping division, sculptures inspired by visits to wells and reservoirs, and works made from Pacific driftwood. The exhibition will also feature Scacco's We Are Essential photo campaign (shot by Monica Orozco) and documentation of the corresponding festival celebrating essential workers, and images from her research on understanding complex invisible infrastructural systems.
